FAQ's
Here is a short written FAQ on how to get your team started and ready for competition.
All news and updates are on our main TF2 6vs6 League Homepage. Go here for all your needs starting out. On the left hand side you will find links to Files, Rules, Schedules, and Rankings, etc. On the right hand side you will find a list of the current season’s maps, and a short list of rules (full list is on the rules page). If you’re unsure of a rule or any other questions, feel free to contact us. There are a few ways to do this:
Check the staff page, add us on Steam, check us out in IRC at irc.gamesurge.net #ugc.tf2, or email us at [email protected]

Creating the team
Get a team of players together and go to the Create team link
Once your team is created and set to ready, review the Rules page and make sure to note the weapon and item restrictions as well as all the other rules.
STEAM Login: Steam login via the green button is a player login system, separate from your team leader's credentials. Team players can request to be added to you roster by using your Team's "join password". This will save a team leader much time, because their steam information is automatically added to your roster. Team players can also login via steam to view the leader to leader match communications for each week's Match.
Building a Roster

Join Password:
- The team leader sets his Team's "Join Password" on his team details page.
Player Join Request:
- Once a password is set by a team, the players then can log into ugc page page on steam link. They then navigate to roster membership tab, and send a request to join a particular team using that "Join Password".
- On the Team Leaders Roster management page, that "Join Request" will show up above the roster listing. The team leader can "accept" or "reject" that join request, shown with complete player information. If the team leader accepts, the player add member to roster page loads with steam id filled in, and teh team leader can simply click "add to roster".
Player Dropping a Team:
- Players can drop their roster listing at anytime from their steam logged in player page. When they do that, the Team Leader is notified on his Roster page, and on his leader homepage.

Navigating the Primary Team Leader page
for Primary Team Leaders and Owners only.
You will get to the Leader page by clicking the Leader Login button on the top left corner of the main page.
MY Team Leader Page (Leader Login button)
Left hand side has many options to choose from including:
My Team: The Home page of the Leader page showing if you're ready, current match, and report match results.
My Match: Shows the Current match and Reporting match results.
My Team Details: information about your teams name and how to contact the team.
My Team Roster: find details about your team: add/remove from roster.
Report Match Score: On the My Team page, but can also be accessed here.
My Login Info: Update account information.

Servers
It is recommended that you have your own server. UGC currently has 5 American and 2 Euro servers, they are booked first come first served. If you have your own server, go to our Files page and download all the maps and configs.
To borrow a UGC server, see the Guide to Requesting a Server

The process to properly start a match is as follows: Exec config, switch map.
Not following this process will allow custom models to bypass sv_pure 2 and also possibly not record your STV demo.
Set your server default setting to sv_pure 2. Not setting this could allow certain models that allow players to see through walls. We do our best to keep our league clean and every step followed will help keep disputes down!

Q&A
Q: When are matches played?
A: Match default time is 9:30est Mondays. Both teams will need to agree if it is going to be postponed or played early. Every agreement should go in Match Comms in case anything happens for proof of agreement.

Q: Whats the best way to get a scrim going with teams?
A: Post on the Scrim thread of the forum or join the UGC Highlander Scrim group.

Q: My team is new and we really want to do well in the league. Is there anyone around to help?
A: There are mentors on the forum and also a Steam group to be contacted for full teams, or individual players that are looking for help.

Q: If something happens in our match that breaks the rules, what do we do?
A: Try and go over all the basics before the match starts (rostered players by checking steamIDS for ringers, server config is set and map is changed, and no banned weapons being used). If the match starts with ringers and/or on the wrong map version, you will need to call it out before this starts. If the match starts you are thereby accepting the changes. Make sure you tell the team they are breaking whichever rule (weapon banned, excessive unsportsmanlike behavior, exploiting the map, etc.). If they refuse to change, then turn in a dispute to [email protected]

Q: I'm a leader of my team, but I cant logon to the Leader Login section. What do I do?
A: Make a normal account and go to forum's "Request Leader Forum access thread. Follow the short instructions and you're on your way. http://ugcleague.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9035

Q: What Division should my Team be in?
A:
1. Skill Divisions

Platinum: The highest skill level in UGC 6vs6. Most of the teams in this division have at least one year of past UGC experience, many have two or more. All of the players have past competitive TF2 experience.

Silver: The second highest skill level. Most of the teams in this division have at least one year experience. Most of the players have past competitive TF2 experience. Returning teams should be considered Mid Silver or either higher Steel or Low platinum from Season 6.

Steel: The third highest skill level. Several of the teams in this division have at least one year experience in competition but there are also new teams without much experience.

(Note: Not all regional divisions have skill divisions )

2. Invite Limit

Season 11 6vs6 League: We currently have no restrictions on players who have "pro" experience from other leagues.
For fairness and openess, we request that these players roster with their real accounts, not 'alts' or aliased accounts.
If you are a player with serious competative experience, you should be playing in our top divisions, for the sake of your own integrety and reputation.
If we find players are abusing our voluntary policy, we reserve the right to change this policy mid-season.
If we find a team has been playing with aliased high-level players, we also reserve the right to move that team to the highest skill division at anytime in a season.
