Team Fortress Classic An important discussion is now taking place on the TFC Leaders forum regarding changes to the UGC tfc banlist, ban policy, and probation program for tfc. I strongly encourage all UGC tfc leaders to participate. If you are a team leader for tfc and do not yet have access to the tfc leaders' forums please find an admin in #ugc-tfc or #ugc-support and seek access. The proposed changes are significant and we encourage your participation and feedback.
Fortress Forever Our Fortress Forever league is closing its first season of success and we will be announcing the first FF league champion team next week. The community is growing, FF 2.1 will soon be out, and our next season will soon be starting. If you're looking for something fresh to try, check out the growing Fortress Forever community. Community activities including pre-season exhibition matches and the involvement of community 'pubbers' are on the way soon. Watch for further announcements of these upcoming events. A European 4v league is also under consideration based on community request.
Team Fortress 2 Our TF2 league will also be opening shortly. The league will be 7v7 in a title-format. A title match will be held periodically between teams that are on a win streak and the defending title holder. A TF2 server will be given to the titleholding team as the 'title belt'. We are now taking signups. Be sure to choose 'Team Fortress 2 7v7'. |

Don't forget that daylight saving time begins this weekend. If you live in an area that follows daylight saving time, don't forget to set your clocks an hour forward. If you do NOT live an area that follows daylight savings time, you will need to come to matches an hour earlier.
I would also like to invite you to check out a few new options in fortress gaming.
Fortress Forever 5v5 Our Fortress Forever ladder is up and going strong. We are now in our second week of preseason and matches have been going very well. If you have not yet seen the new 2.0 patch for Fortress Forever you *really* need to check it out. Try it out and get involved!
1v1 Soldier - Mulch! Our 1v1 Mulch ladder has also started and we now have 24 players battling it out. Our first title will soon be awarded. Are you the best soldier in tfc? Come and prove it.
Friday Night 2Fort Fun at STA If you are looking for a fun tfc gaming alternative, you should also check out STA's Friday night 6v6 2fort league which held opening matches this weekend. This is a fun alternative in a more 'public play' style designed to be friendlier to pub players in a more relaxed environment. Check it out!

| First bans |

| by Padawan on Sun, 3/2/08 at 6:34 PM |
In the uC vs CLT tfc 7v7 title match on 2/24 it has been found that two players Mearacolo (0:1:1210313) and Fong (0:1:150757) intentionally disrupted round two of the match. Mearacolo posed as HLTV for nearly the entire round, and also briefly joined the -CLT-team. Fong posed as HLTV, joined and parted the server and teams several times, changed the setting of sv_clienttrace, and rcon kicked a -CLT- player off of the server.
We at UGC still support tfc and regard these actions seriously, and we will not allow the actions of two people to ruin the remaining days of tfc for everyone else. Additionally, and with that philosophy, UGC made it clear last fall when TF2 and FF were released that any new ban placed in tfc would be carried to the new mods.
Therefore, for this severe sportsmanship violation and blatant disrespect of UGC and its matches, Mearacolo (0:1:1210313) and Fong (0:1:150757) are hereby banned from UGC in all divisions for 6 months.
Because of the nature of the disruption, and the closeness of round one of the match, the 7v7 title match of uC vs CLT shall be replayed today, 3/2, and the results of the match of 2/24 nullified.
UGC would like to clarify that it was not found that the uC team knew of or condoned the behavior of these two players. Therefore no punishment is given to the uC team and UGC extends our thanks to the uC team for complete cooperation with our investigative efforts and timely provision of necessary evidence. |

Fortress Forever 2.0 Released
Fortress Forever 2.0 is now out and if you have not seen all the new changes, I think you will be in for a very pleasant surprise.
UGC has set up a central file station where you may find everything you need: client files, server files, and every known community-made map to-date. If you have made a map for FF please let us know so we can include it!
Our Fortress Forever League will be opening soon so stay tuned for updates. Our default match day for our FF 5v5 league will be Wednesdays at 9pm, however schedules will go up very early (Thursdays) to allow teams plenty of time to arrange alternate match times including weekend times. We encourage teams to be cooperative.
Our rules are still under discussion and formation and all teams and players will have input on appropriate gameplay issues that should be regulated. We encourage participation in our forums. We are here to support the growth of the Fortress Forever community and will respond to what you want to play.
This is the opportunity for a fresh start for all. EVERYONE is welcome to sign up and play, regardless of any past ban history.
I'm really looking forward to the opening of our first FF 2.0 matches. Sign your team up today!
TFC 1v1 Mulch League Now Open
In response to the community, UGC is pleased to announce the opening of a new TFC 1v1 soldier/mulch ladder.
Sign up to compete for a chance to win a 12 slot server from #gorabid!!
The basic structure is "every man for himself". Players will be scheduled with an opponent on a weekly basis (specific opponents may be requested via the forums or through the ladder admin). Players may work out when they actually play. Match style will be traditional "mulch" play with 2 rounds with a frag limit of 20, no nail grenades, and jump to signal readiness. Players will play for rank and title, and periodically we will hold tournaments.
As outlined here, players already in our probation program may join, and banned players may also join subject to the approval of the other players in the ladder.
We are now taking signups and hope to see you join.
